InstaBowl was cooked up by award-winning Perch Executive Chef and Co-Owner Mike Ledesma. A former financial advisor, Mike enrolled in culinary school in Hawaii and has worked alongside “Iron Chef” Roy Yamaguchi. He comes to Richmond by way of Baltimore and Oahu, destinations that — along with his Filipino heritage — inspire his cooking style.
Mike earned his chops cooking around the East Coast before working as corporate chef for Richmond Restaurant Group. He then opened his first restaurant, Perch, in September 2018. Now Mike takes his smarts, savvy, and the relationships he’s built in kitchens throughout RVA to InstaBowl, an elevated fast-casual concept that aspires to be the area’s go-to for to-go.
